The product shipped very quickly and arrived well packaged. It came with a glove to handle the bulb during installation. As expected.. installing the bulb in the already present housing took some care but it wasn’t too bad. Would I order it again?.. definitely.

A great bulb. Exact replacement for the original bulb. Same brand, same performance. Of course the new bulb always seems and probably is brighter than the old one your replacing. I see no reason to buy the entire box. It’s very easy to install the bulb in the box. I don’t see how the box could wear out. It’s just a black plastic box inside and out. Not much point in buying another one. Very fast shipping too. Very happy with this purchase.
Works well but be aware…

The lamp is high quality and works well. However, if this is the second or third time you are replacing it, consider buying the complete housing as well. Heat from the lamp tends to make the housing brittle over time and the small locking clips break easily. Also make sure you clean the screen if you don’t replace the housing. Otherwise it may overheat, shortening the life of the lamp.

I have seen the same part number used to identify this lamp with and without the cage (the outside plastic casing that houses the lamp). That’s basically the main reason for the huge price difference from site to site. The item I purchased was the lamp only (without the cage), so it involved a little extra work. If you go the same route, you will have to open up the old plastic cage, replace the old lamp in the cage and re-use the old cage. You save about 50% of the cost by doing this yourself rather than ordering a unit that comes with the cage. It requires a small flat head screw driver or a dull knife (to pry the plastic cage open) and a small Phillips head screw driver to replace the lamp in it’s cage housing, and about 5 to 10 minutes of your time.
Better than the orriginal

The picture in my TV looks muck better/brighter with this new bulb. You need to feel comfortable around electronics to install this. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE LENS WITH YOUR BARE HANDS! If either of these things is a problem for you, have a professional install it for you.
Last note: the front of the bulb is slightly thicker than the original. You will need to put in all the mounting screws loosely in the mounting, then tighten them in caddy-corner-pairs. Don’t worry, it will fit.
